Rebecca Budig isn’t opposed to a catfight between Brooke and Taylor on Bold and the Beautiful

As a gamer with over two decades of soap opera binge-watching under my belt, I must say that I find myself torn between sympathy and nostalgia for Dr. Taylor Hayes’ current predicament on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Dr. Taylor Hayes is currently facing a challenging situation on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Upon her return to the show, portrayed by Rebecca Budig, there was anticipation for the revival of the love triangle involving her, Ridge Forrester, and Brooke Logan. However, this particular storyline hasn’t materialized yet. Instead, the primary focus in Budig’s initial leading plot revolves around Taylor experiencing a heart-related health issue.

The storyline for this character, Taylor, is now progressing as she confides in Dr. Li Finnegan that she hasn’t consulted a cardiologist but has been informed by her general practitioner that she’s terminally ill. Whether this means Taylor will exit the soap or not remains uncertain, but it’s undoubtedly going to be an emotionally charged storyline for her character moving forward.

Budig definitely has to chops to pull this off but, I’m not going to lie, part of me does wish we got to see a bit more verbal sparring between the good doctor and her rival-turned friend-turned rival again. They did argue over Hope’s decision to kiss Steffy’s husband but they’ve since come to the consensus that it’d be better if they try to be friends, as long as Brooke keeps her daughter in line.

Since Taylor is unwell, it seems unlikely that the upcoming soap opera episode will feature a lighthearted, humorous exchange between the two characters. While we don’t want to see a physical altercation, there have been comical scenes in the past that were successful. For instance, remember the absurd and childish paint fight between Brooke and Taylor in Eric’s foyer from before?

If you’re curious whether Budig might be open to something like this, the answer is certainly affirmative! This topic emerged during an interview with Soap Opera Digest, where the actress was inquired if she’d find a hypothetical catfight amusing if Braylor reverted to their past antics. In response, she excitedly stated: “Wow, that would be absolutely hilarious! I do enjoy a good catfight!

Given Budig’s support, there’s a chance these rival friends could interact soon, possibly due to their shared concern for their daughters, Hope and Steffy, who often find themselves at odds. Alternatively, it could be about Ridge, another point of contention between them.

Brooke feels certain that her bond with Ridge is solid, but Taylor’s health issue could stir up emotions he thought were long buried. If Taylor recovers unexpectedly and Ridge’s heart gets entangled again, it’s hard to predict the plot twists this might bring. We’ll just have to wait and see.
