Lee Child, the creator of the Jack Reacher book collection, may have hinted at which of his books could be used for Season 4 of the Reacher series on Prime Video. The initial season was a screen adaptation of his 1997 debut novel, Killing Floor, and the second season was based on the 2007 novel Bad Luck and Trouble. The third season was an adaption of the 2003 book Persuader.
Lee Child may have revealed the book that Reacher Season 4 will adapt
A youngster posted on X (previously known as Twitter) a picture, hinting at the upcoming fourth season of the show. The image, seemingly snapped inside a subway car, suggests that the script for Season 4 is in progress, as indicated by the caption, “REACHER S4… #REACHER.” The possible implication is that Season 4 will be based on the 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow, which serves as the 13th book in the series and starts with Reacher in the New York City Subway.

The initial eight episodes of the Reacher series debuted on Amazon Prime Video on February 4, 2022, gaining popularity with both critics and audiences. Subsequent seasons were released in a staggered manner: Season 2’s episodes came out from December 15, 2023, to January 19, 2024, while Season 3’s were broadcast between February 20, 2025, and March 27, 2025.
In October 2024, Prime Video had already renewed the show for a fourth season before its third season even started airing. This was announced by Amazon MGM Studios’ head of television, Vernon Sanders, who stated, “Reacher has turned into something extraordinary that keeps captivating our worldwide viewers more than we could have ever anticipated, and we’re excited to bring the series back for another season.” (As reported by Deadline)
It’s worth mentioning that neither Amazon Prime Video nor the show’s creators have disclosed which book will be used as inspiration for the upcoming fourth season, despite plans for filming starting in summer 2025.
