Reacher Season 3 Actor Reveals a Major Book Character Cut From the Show

Actor Anthony Michael Hall will be joining the cast for Season 3 of Amazon Prime Video’s action-crime series “Reacher”. This show is an adaptation from Lee Child’s book series, with the third season drawing inspiration from the 2003 novel “Persuader”. In a recent interview, Hall shared an interesting departure that the upcoming season of Reacher will take compared to its original source material.

In an interview with The Direct, it’s been disclosed that Alan Hall will play Zachary Beck in Reacher Season 3. Interestingly, his character’s wife, Elizabeth Beck (as she appears in Lee Child’s novel), won’t be featured in the upcoming season.

Hall commented that Season 3 was remarkably faithful [to the original story], with one notable exception – the absence of a certain character, his wife’s role. He acknowledged that given an eight-episode season, not everything could be included, but he believes there are substantial parts of the book that correspond to Season 3.”

“Hall noted that while Season 3 was generally accurate, it omitted a character – his wife. Despite the constraints of an eight-episode season, he felt significant sections of the novel were reflected in Season 3.

To those beyond his close circle, Zachary appears to be the proprietor of a rug trading enterprise. Yet, he hides his participation in illicit dealings. Hall characterized Zachary as emulating The Great Gatsby’s lifestyle, expressing that “something seems off because things don’t quite fit together as they should.” What makes this role intriguing is that there’s plenty of scope for me to explore the character, according to what I discussed with [showrunner] Nick [Santora].

In the same interview, Hall confessed that he hadn’t familiarized himself with Child’s work prior to joining the project. However, as he was working on the season, he came across it and decided to keep the book close by each day.
