Rashmika Mandanna reveals why she has ‘moved on’ from ‘national crush’ tag; ‘I am now rooted in…’

In a captivating interview, none other than the Pushpa 2 actress herself shed light on her past label as the “National Crush” and revealed that she has gracefully outgrown it.

In a recent chat with ETimes, Rashmika reminisced about the label “National Crush” that she received following her role in the Kannada film Kirik Party. This title initially originated from her being admired by her college peers, which eventually expanded to her being called “Karnataka Crush,” and ultimately, “National Crush.

She mentioned that her title as ‘National Crush’ originated from her role in the film Kirik Party (2016). At the time, she was admired by everyone at college, which later expanded to being known as the ‘Karnataka Crush,’ and eventually, gained recognition as the ‘National Crush.’

Progressing after her disclosure, Rashmika shared that she believes she’s grown beyond this label now. The actress emphasized her strong bond with her fans, assuring that their affection for her is still abundant.

In her own words, “Today, with all the affection being showered upon me, I sense a progression beyond that point. When people express sentiments like ‘You are the nation’s darling’ or ‘You reside in everyone’s hearts,’ it makes those moments even more precious. I believe I have established a strong presence in their lives and affections, and I am simply striving to exceed expectations.

Furthermore, during a chat with Femina magazine, Rashmika discussed her approach to maintaining humility amidst fame. She shared that being humble doesn’t feel like additional work for her, as she’s consistently been among individuals who help keep her feet on the ground.

In terms of her career, Rashmika achieved success with the box office sensation Pushpa 2, sharing screen time with Allu Arjun. Looking ahead, she has several intriguing upcoming projects such as Kubera and The Girlfriend on her agenda.
