As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! I, as a collector of unique items from Philadelphia-based Rarify, have been given a sneak peek at their latest collaboration. They’ve teamed up with Gantri, a lighting design studio, to introduce something never seen before – my very own Cube One Table Lamp. This is their first original product, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it!

The modular lighting system boasts a wide range of adaptable layouts, owing to its incorporation of authentic USM Haller Modular components for the structure and an intricately designed cube-shaped light unit. This setup is demonstrated through individual units, tower structures, and multi-column blocks, vividly embodying Gantri’s expansive design philosophy. Gantri has used a unique biodegradable material in its production, enclosed within a frame of both vintage and contemporary USM Haller components, symbolizing their shared commitment to “environmental friendliness, durability, and classic elegance.” The product is manufactured using a 3D printing process, with the manufacturer opting for a sugarcane-based plant polymer for eco-friendly disposal at the end of its lifespan. The vintage aesthetic of the finished piece harmonizes with Rarify’s expertise in exquisite designs from the 20th century, as well as USM’s lasting Swiss design aesthetic grounded in Modernist practicality.

This collaboration represents Rarify’s initial product design utilizing Gantri’s recently unveiled digital manufacturing platform, Gantri Made. The objective of this platform is to transform the design sector by offering a swift, cost-effective, and eco-friendly approach for developing and expanding top-tier lighting products. In partnership, they held a festive launch during NYCxDesign on May 14, exhibiting the diverse designs of the Cube One Table Lamp, under the artistic guidance of Matt Pecina from Studio Guapo.
