Rapper Vedan lands in trouble again over suspected Tiger tooth in his chain; forest officials launch probe

Rapper Vedan is encountering growing legal issues following the discovery of what seems to be a tiger’s tooth on a necklace he was wearing. As reported by Mathrubhumi, this finding occurred during a police search at his Kochi apartment. The search initially took place due to a tip-off about drugs. Earlier, six grams of cannabis were confiscated from the apartment, leading to a deeper investigation into the Malayalam artist and his associates.

The report states that Vedan informed the police that the tooth came from Thailand. Now, the Forest Department is investigating to determine if it’s actually a real tiger tooth. If it is, he could face charges under India’s tough Wildlife Protection laws which do not permit bail for crimes involving ownership of protected animal items like tiger claws or teeth.

Officers from Kodanad’s Forest Department visited Thrippunithura’s Hill Palace Police Station to inspect a seized chain. Since then, the pendant has been taken for further examination. Simultaneously, the police discovered cannabis, approximately 9.5 lakh rupees in cash, and nine mobile phones. The individual involved, Vedan, stated that the money was from a music event performance. Currently, authorities are meticulously investigating the origin of the found cash.

On Sunday evening, the rapper and approximately eight other band members made their way back to their apartment following a performance at a concert. The police executed a search warrant on Monday, claiming they discovered the group apparently intoxicated by drugs. It was said that a table in the living room held the cannabis.

After his detention, the organizers of the ‘Ente Keralam’ exposition in Idukki decided to cancel his planned act due to his connection with a drug case. As the probe progresses, it seems that wildlife and narcotics allegations could significantly impact the rapper’s future prospects.
