April Blair, the mind behind the series Ransom Canyon, has officially announced its comeback for a new season. She’s given us a sneak peek into what awaits viewers in the second installment and shared her thoughts on how the narrative will grow while maintaining its connection to the initial storyline that made it popular.

Netflix renews Ransom Canyon for Season 2

As a dedicated fan of the small screen, I’m thrilled to share the exciting news that Ransom Canyon has received another season! This captivating romantic Western drama, starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, is an adaptation from Jodi Thomas’ enchanting book series. It made its grand entrance in April with ten enthralling episodes, and I can hardly wait to see what unfolds next!

Netflix renewed the series approximately two months following its initial debut, with April Blair, the showrunner and executive producer, having previously organized the writing team for Season 2.

It appears that production is slated to start in September, as the crew intends to shoot scenes in New Mexico. Notably, this series, which takes place in the Texas Hill Country, will revisit Netflix’s Albuquerque Studios, the very location where Season 1 was filmed.

April Blair confirms that Ransom Canyon Season 2 is officially happening

April Blair announced on Instagram that she has confirmed the development of Season 2 for “Ransom Canyon,” referencing a June 24 article from Deadline. She expressed her excitement about Netflix’s return to the series, stating that there are many more untold stories in the dreamy Texas Hill Country where Ransom Canyon is set.

In this production, she serves as executive producer, working alongside Dan Angel and Duhamel. The primary cast from Season 1, with the exception of James Brolin, whose storyline concluded, is anticipated to rejoin the team. Erica Dasher, who made a brief appearance as a mysterious woman in the final episode, might try out for a more significant part.

For four weeks, our first season ranked among the top 10 globally, reaching the number 2 spot with an impressive 9.4 million views during its debut week. The series also garnered attention in 77 countries worldwide. Similar to shows like Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias, it now forms part of Netflix’s selection of comfort entertainment. As for season 2, we will delve deeper into the lives of the three ranching families dealing with land disputes and personal turmoil.

In an exciting turn of events, I can’t help but share my enthusiasm as we delve into Season 2! Now that I’m part of the action, this character is proving to be a real treat, with a captivating narrative unfolding. The showrunners have some juicy secrets in store for us, promising to deepen the relationships established in Season 1 and introduce fresh conflicts along the way. It’s going to be quite a rollercoaster ride!
