Ranma 1/2 is a shonen manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. Shogakukan serialized the manga in their Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from August 1987 until March 1996. Studio Deen produced the first anime adaptation which premiered in April 1989. However, it was canceled and only ran for 18 episodes. A second adaptation by the same studio, titled Ranma 1/2 Nettohen, aired from October 1989 to September 1992. It had a total of 143 episodes. MAPPA is producing the 2024 remake of the series, premiering in October of this year.
