Randy Orton Responds to Kevin Owens’ Attack on WWE SmackDown

Previously crowned WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton has addressed the violent assault by Kevin Owens during a recent episode of SmackDown. The animosity between Owens and Cody Rhodes has been escalating for several weeks now, with Owens expressing his displeasure over Rhodes’ choice to join forces with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood 2024.

Following the incident known as Bad Blood, Owens became enraged and retaliated with a backstage assault on Rhodes. The previous Friday on SmackDown, he stormed into the ring, grabbed a microphone, and voiced his grievances. Owens revealed that WWE had imposed a suspension and fine upon him for his actions against Rhodes.

While Owen was venting his anger, Cody Rhodes stepped forward to confront him. Backstage personnel swiftly intervened to prevent a brawl from breaking out. Randy Orton then entered the scene to defuse the tension, advising Rhodes to remain composed while trying to do the same with Owen. However, in response to Orton’s words, Owen lashed out at Orton with a powerful back elbow, prompting Orton to retaliate with a punch that left Owen stunned and enraged.

The show wasn’t quite done for the night, when later on, an enraged Owens launched an attack on Orton backstage. The SmackDown General Manager had to step in to halt the altercation. It seems that Owens has reached boiling point, choosing to lash out at his friends Rhodes and Orton. Now, Orton, displeased with the turn of events, has sent a message to Owens.

At a recent WWE event in the UK, Randy Orton spoke about Kevin Owens following his attack on SmackDown. Orton made it clear that upon his return to the U.S., he plans to confront Owens and straighten things out. He warned, “Owens, as soon as I’m back in the States, once I cross the pond again, you can count on me coming for you, and there’s a beating headed your way.
