Being a sequel to iSmart Shankar, released back in 2019, the film stars none other than Ram Pothineni as the charismatic Ustaad iSmart Shankar. With Double iSmart currently playing in cinemas, I’ve noticed a lot of new fans asking about the conclusion to the first installment. Well, here’s a quick rundown of how iSmart Shankar wrapped up!

What happened to Chandni?

The movie iSmart Shankar starts by depicting a gathering where brain researchers talk about an innovative venture focusing on memory transfers. Subsequently, the plot moves to our main character, iSmart Shankar, who is a notorious ex-convict. He had been serving time for murdering the Chief Minister, Kashi Vishwanath. Shankar’s escape kickstarts a series of incidents that are central to the storyline.

Afterward, the narrative delves into Shankar’s past leading up to his arrest, showcasing events prior to this point. Known for minor misdemeanors, Shankar encountered a woman named Chandni who captivated him instantly. Simultaneously, his uncle presented an appealing yet risky proposition: the assassination of the Chief Minister. Lured by the wealth, Shankar consented and successfully completed the task.

Following the assassination, Shankar and Chandni escaped to Goa, but their escape was cut short when they were ambushed by the police in a shocking turn of events. During the firefight that ensued, Chandni lost her life, leaving Shankar heartbroken and driven to avenge her death. Upon discovering his uncle’s treachery, Shankar took revenge by killing him. Now, Shankar is on a mission to identify and confront Jamaal, the true mastermind behind the assassination.

Meanwhile, CBI officer Arun had been meticulously probing the murder of the Chief Minister, zeroing in on Jamaal. By chance, Arun and another individual named Shankar stumbled upon each other at a desolate location. Unbeknownst to them, they had blundered into a trap, which resulted in an ambush that left both severely injured. Tragically, Arun succumbed to his wounds, while Shankar managed to survive with life-threatening injuries.

In their quest for crucial details about the murder case, the senior CBI officer, Chandrakanth, approached Arun’s girlfriend, Sarah – a neuroscientist involved in an innovative memory transfer project. With time running short, he persuaded her to transplant Arun’s memories into Shankar’s mind, believing it might hold the clues they sought.

Did iSmart Shankar take revenge for Chandni’s death?

In a successful memory fusion process, Sarah blended Arun’s recollections into Shankar’s consciousness. Yet, upon awakening, Shankar felt overwhelmed by this deluge of memories and managed to flee from the custody of both the CBI and Sarah.

In the course of iSmart Shankar unraveling, Sarah shared with me that my initial memories would gradually disappear, replaced by Arun’s. As I felt unexpected jolts, I confirmed to Sarah that her experiment was indeed in motion. Grasping the ticking clock, I became resolved to seek justice for Chandni’s death before I completely lost myself and my identity.

Over time, Arun’s past began to re-emerge, drawing Shankar to Arun’s residence where he unearthed significant documents on Arun’s computer. These documents exposed the intricate plot masterminded by Ramamoorthy and Devendra Vishwanath to murder Chief Minister Kashi Vishwanath. Upon sharing this discovery with CBI officer Chandrakanth, Shankar was immediately hit with a wave of his original memories, leading to perplexity.

With Arun’s memories completely merging into Shankar, he assumed control over the investigation. Later on, Shankar traced and apprehended the corrupt police officer Dharam, who was in cahoots with Ramamoorthy. By examining Dharam’s correspondence, Shankar exposed the entire scope of the conspiracy.

In an intense showdown backed by the CBI, Shankar stood against Devendra and Ramamoorthy at Varanasi. Before the Vishwanath clan, Shankar unveiled their conspiracy, exposing their involvement in planning the Chief Minister’s murder, specifically their roles as orchestrators of the crime. A fierce brawl ensued between Shankar and Devendra. In this clash, Devendra struck Shankar, causing a sudden return of Shankar’s long-lost memories.

In a shocking turn of events, Sarah disclosed that Devendra had planned Chandni’s demise. Overwhelmed with anger, Shankar took justice into his own hands by slaying Devendra, seeking vengeance for Chandni’s loss. The movie ended on an uplifting note, as Shankar – a blend of his former self and Arun’s recollections – wed Sarah on Valentine’s Day, heralding the start of a fresh chapter in his life.
