The much-anticipated film “Peddi” by Buchi Babu Sana, featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor along with other talented actors, is preparing for a spectacular theater premiere on March 27, 2026. Already, the roaring first trailer has ignited anticipation among potential viewers. Interestingly, TopMob reports that Netflix has purchased the post-theatrical digital rights for Peddi in all languages.
According to inside information, the OTT rights for the movie “Peddi” have been bought by Netflix for approximately Rs 105 crore plus GST. This makes it the film featuring Ram Charan with the highest digital earnings as a solo male lead. With Rs 105 crore already secured and an estimated additional Rs 75 crore expected from satellite rights, music rights, and other sources, “Peddi” could potentially recoup its production cost solely from non-theatrical income. The share of the box office earnings will be distributed between the producer and Ram Charan according to their agreed profit-sharing ratio.
As a devoted admirer, I must acknowledge that Ram Charan’s journey at the box office over the past few years has been a rollercoaster ride, with the triumph of RRR being swiftly followed by the setback of Game Changer within just two years. However, it isn’t merely about the films succeeding or failing; the primary concern is the prolonged gap between his projects. The upcoming film, Peddi, could potentially be the game-changer that reaffirms Ram Charan’s standing as a reliable pan-India star capable of consistently delivering blockbusters.
Throughout his successful acting career, Ram Charan has appeared in blockbusters like Magadheera and Rangasthalam, as well as the highly anticipated film RRR, alongside Jr. NTR. He was one of the initial South Indian actors of this generation to join the pan-India movement, starring alongside Priyanka Chopra in Zanjeer. Although his first attempt at a pan-Indian role didn’t go as planned, it didn’t discourage him. Eventually, with RRR, he achieved the highly sought-after re-launch that he had been striving for.
On March 27th of next year when Peddi premieres, we send our warmest wishes to Ram Charan and the entire team for their daring film project!
