On January 10th, the movie “Game Changer” featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani made its way to theaters. Although it’s been battling some difficulties at the box office, the film was unfortunately subjected to another piracy incident. Unlawfully, a local TV station aired the movie, and snapshots of the broadcast soon circulated online. In response, producer Sreenivasa Kumar took to his social media platform to discuss this issue.
As an ardent admirer, I find myself compelled to express my deepest concerns. It’s utterly disheartening to witness a film that debuted merely a week ago being broadcast on local cable networks and even displayed on buses. This practice raises profound questions about the sanctity of our creative endeavors.
You see, cinema is not merely a stage for heroes, directors, or producers; it’s the culmination of countless hours, unwavering dedication, and dreams harbored by thousands of individuals over the course of three to four years. It’s more than just entertainment—it’s a testament to our collective passion and perseverance.
Sreenivasa Kumar voiced worries about how piracy harms both film distributors and exhibitors. He noted that the profitability of movies is crucial for their livelihoods, expressing that piracy diminishes the value of their efforts and poses a substantial risk to the continued growth of the movie industry.
He suggested that it’s high time influential governments impose strong measures to halt this issue. We should join forces and remain resolute to safeguard and improve the future of the cinematic world,” he finished.
