On May 9, 2025, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (JVAS), featuring Chiranjeevi and Sridevi in the principal roles, has returned to the big screens after a 35-year gap since its initial release. Recently, Chiranjeevi expressed his thoughts on potential sequels or remakes for this classic film.

In a recent YouTube chat on the Vyjayanthi Network channel, the renowned star voiced his desires regarding a potential sequel or remake, hoping to see Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor as the leads.

He joked, “I’m not saying I could handle it right now (laughs). It sounds overly ambitious, but I believe Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of Ram Charan and Sridevi, would be ideal for a sequel or remake. I also think Ashwini Dutt’s daughters should produce the project, with Nag Ashwin directing under the guidance of Raghavendra Rao. If that were to happen, it would be groundbreaking.

In the days ahead, Ram Charan became part of the jubilation over the movie’s rerelease, sharing in its anticipation. As the actor reminisced about JVAS being a joint effort involving Ashwini Dutt, Raghavendra Rao, Ilaiyaraaja, and numerous others, he acknowledged that it was an extraordinary event worthy of celebration.

The actor mentioned that it’s possible he developed a devotion towards Lord Hanuman due to the song “Jai Chiranjeeva Jagadeka Veera,” which he listened to during his early years.

Speaking about a potential sequel or remake, the actor expressed, “The public is eagerly waiting for clarification on what became of the ring and the fish at the end of the film. Only Nag Ashwin can provide this information. It’s not just a request, it’s a call for you to deliver an explanation!

The movie ‘Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari’ is a fantasy film that first hit screens back in 1990. It tells the tale of Indraja, the child of the Hindu deity Indra, who journeys to our world after misplacing her enchanted ring. Fate has the ring land in the possession of Raju, a guide residing with a group of orphaned youngsters in a hill station.

In addition to Chiranjeevi and Sridevi, this movie boasts a talented group of actors like Amrish Puri, Kannada Prabhakar, Allu Ramalingaiah, among others, who play significant parts.
