Rajinikanth used body-double for maximum action sequences in Coolie? Here’s what we know

Even after several decades, Rajinikanth’s powerful presence as an action hero still captivates audiences. It’s been rumored that, to ensure flawless execution of action scenes, the 74-year-old actor might be using a body double.

123Telugu reports that for the first time, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj employed a body double in the already-completed movie “Coolie,” starring Thalaivar (Rajinikanth).

Initially, the lead actor had planned to work on the set for 70 days, but it seems he was temporarily substituted with a stand-in for approximately 45 days, during which time they filmed the challenging action scenes.

It’s possible that many of the action sequences in the movie “Coolie” weren’t performed by Rajinikanth himself, given the demanding nature of the stunts and his advanced age at the time. Yet, it’s essential to note that these assumptions haven’t been verified as facts.

If you’re not already aware, it’s important to note that rumors about Rajinikanth employing a stand-in actor in his movies are not new.

Previously, during the filming of Enthiran, the late actor Manoj Bharathiraja took on the role of a stand-in for the lead actor Rajinikanth in one of the movie’s pivotal sequences.

Returning our focus to Coolie – a high-octane, multi-talent action-thriller – it’s helmed by the talented Lokesh Kanagaraj. This upcoming production has already sparked excitement among its audience and is scheduled for release in theaters on August 14th.

Besides Rajinikanth, the team is made up of actors such as Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and others.

In this sentence, “cast” has been replaced with “team”, making it more conversational and easier to understand.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the prominent Tamil actor is now engaged in filming for another upcoming project titled “Jailer 2,” which is helmed by director Nelson Dilipkumar. His current schedule involves visiting numerous locations throughout South India where the movie is being produced.
