Rajinikanth teases Suriya in a special video message at Kanguva audio launch: 'I think this movie was written for me'

As an ardent fan of Tamil cinema, I have had the privilege of witnessing some truly remarkable moments that have left me spellbound. Among these unforgettable instances, the recent video message from our beloved Thalaivar, Rajinikanth, at the Kanguva audio launch stands out as a testament to his humility, respect, and profound understanding of the cinematic world.

During Dussehra, the films “Vettaiyan” starring Rajinikanth and “Kanguva” starring Suriya were set to compete in cinemas. However, Suriya decided to step aside, expressing his admiration for Rajinikanth, stating he deserved a solo release. Unfortunately, due to scheduling issues, Rajinikanth couldn’t attend the Kanguva audio launch event in person. Nevertheless, he made sure to show support and sent a video message to the team instead.

In the video, Rajinikanth mentioned that he was unable to attend the event due to other obligations. However, he did express admiration for Gnanavel Raja and his cinematic vision. He stated, “Gnanavel has an extensive knowledge of cinema. He understands how to market a film.

Speaking about Director Siva, Rajinikanth stated that despite only having collaborated on one project, “Annaatthe,” it seems like they’ve worked together on numerous films due to the strong bond between them.

Thalaivar pondered over Siva’s ingenious methods of movie-making, appreciating how he orchestrated the entire film, including the expansive Kolkata sequences in Annaatthe, within a studio environment. He also mentioned that originally, Kanguva was intended to be a production for him.

He said, “Actually, during the filming of Annaatthe, I spoke to Siva, and asked if he could write a period film for me. He was pumped up about it too, and I think this movie was written for me. It then reached Gnanavel and Suriya.”

In his video message, Rajinikanth expressed great admiration for Suriya’s father, as they have collaborated on numerous projects together. He went on to say that Sivakumar possesses noble qualities and that Suriya embodies these traits just like his father does.

In simpler terms, Thalaivar complimented the actor from Kanguva, expressing his eagerness to explore both familiar and novel opportunities. To wrap up, he expressed his hope for an immense success for the film’s entire crew.

As per Desimartini’s reports, the movie titled Kanguva has a production budget exceeding INR 300 crores. This highly-anticipated film stars Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani and is scheduled for release on November 14 in cinemas nationwide.
