Rajinikanth showers praise on Amitabh Bachchan ahead of sharing screen with him after 33 years in Vettaiyan: 'Bollywood was laughing at him...’

As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of Indian cinema, I must say that the upcoming reunion of two titans, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, in Vettaiyan is an exciting development. Their camaraderie, respect, and admiration for each other, as evidenced by their heartfelt words at the preview event, truly underscores the resilience and humility that these two giants of cinema embody.

Legendary actors Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, giants in Indian cinema, are coming together on the big screen again after a gap of 33 years with the movie Vettaiyan. The film will premiere on October 10, 2024, and to build anticipation, the producers recently held a sneak peek event. During this event, Rajinikanth showered Big B with glowing compliments.

At that unforgettable gathering, the legendary figure confided in us, “You know, when Amit Ji was immersed in filmmaking, a series of misfortunes left him financially crippled. He struggled to meet even his watchman’s wages and was forced to auction off his beloved Juhu residence. The industry itself seemed to be chuckling at his plight. Yet, within three short years, he managed to star in commercials, host KBC, and accumulated such wealth… that he reacquired his Juhu home, not just once but four times over on the very same street!

The actor added, “He truly serves as an inspiration. At 82 years old, he’s still putting in a full 10-hour workday.” Later, he spoke about Amitabh Bachchan’s father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, who was a renowned writer. With such a literary background, the actor pointed out that Amitabh could have easily achieved success. Yet, even without any such connections, the actor managed to thrive in his career.

In a similar vein to Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, who wasn’t at the gathering, showered praise on him by referring to him as “the pinnacle of all stars.” Moreover, the actor reminisced about the shoot of Hum when Big B would rest in his air-conditioned vehicle, while Rajini slept on the floor. This act of humility was also applauded by Amitabh Bachchan.

The two actors are coming back to work on the big screen together for the first time in 33 years, having previously acted alongside each other in Bollywood movies such as Andha Kanoon, Geraftaar, and Hum. Overjoyed at this reunion, they have both posted a picture from the set of Vettaiyan to express their excitement about collaborating again.

The film Vettaiyan, helmed by director TJ Gnanavel (known for Jai Bhim), narrates the story of an IPS officer who holds the reputation of being a supercop among the police force. He’s renowned for confronting formidable adversaries, and as the narrative unfolds, a fresh enemy emerges in his path.

As a die-hard enthusiast, let me share that this movie isn’t just graced by legends like Rajinikanth and Big B, but also boasts of exceptional talents such as Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Rithika Singh, and a host of others in pivotal roles.
