The veteran actor, looking dapper after his journey back from Kerala where he attended a wedding with his beloved wife Latha, couldn’t help but share some exciting updates about his upcoming projects – Coolie and Vettaiyan. What a delightful surprise for us fans!
Rajinikanth lauds Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2
When questioned about Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, Rajinikanth expressed that he had watched the movie and found it to be impressive. Concerning Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, Rajinikanth stated that filming for the project was advancing smoothly.
Journalists also asked about the impending release of Rajinikanth’s anticipated movie “Vettaiyan.” In response, Rajinikanth suggested that there might be a postponement, explaining, “We haven’t set a definitive release date just yet. Dubbing processes are still underway.”
Is Vettaiyan delayed?
It’s possible that Vettaiyan has been delayed as Rajinikanth previously announced a Dussehra premiere during his June visit to the Himalayas.
During his journey long ago, he shared with some yogis that the film “Vettaiyan” would be unveiled for Dussehra. I had finished my parts, but the rest of the cast was still shooting. The release date was estimated to be around October 10th.
Instead, the media encounter at the Chennai airport saw him expressing different views. As for “Coolie,” the production was initially scheduled to begin in June, but it appears the shoot has been postponed as well.

Sun Pictures is leaving no stone unturned in bringing this production to life on a grand scale. The project was kickstarted back in September 2023, and we’ve got Sivakarthikeyan joining the cast in a pivotal role to add even more star power. Anirudh Ravichander’s melodious tunes will undoubtedly make this film an auditory treat as well. Although the release date is still under wraps, I can only imagine the anticipation building up with each passing day!
The eagerly awaited film, set to debut in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam languages, hasn’t started shooting yet.
