Rajinikanth has a surprising reaction to ongoing sexual assault controversy in Malayalam cinema; 'I don't...'

As a long-time admirer of Rajinikanth’s on-screen charisma and an ardent follower of the happenings in the Malayalam film industry, I find myself deeply concerned by the recent revelations regarding the mistreatment of actresses. The Hema Committee report has shed a troubling light on the industry, and it’s disheartening to see such allegations against respected figures like Jayasurya.

The Hema Committee report has shed light on several challenging circumstances experienced by actresses within the Malayalam film industry. Subsequently, Superstar Rajinikanth has voiced his thoughts on this matter, expressing that he remains unaware of these situations.

In a recent press conference in Chennai, the superstar was asked about his view on the Me Too allegations being made in the Malayalam cinema industry. Steering away from getting involved in the controversy, the actor simply said, “I don’t know…I don’t know anything about that. Sorry.”

A significant number of performers from diverse sectors of the entertainment world have spoken up publicly to share their experiences and perspectives on sexual misconduct they encountered within the industry. Notably, several well-known Malayalam actors like Jayasurya, Siddique, Mukesh, among others, have found themselves implicated in such accusations, with complaints being lodged against them.

In response to accusations levied against him, Jayasurya chose to address the matter publicly via his social media account, stating that he would be taking a legal approach to counter these allegations.

The actor stated, “Because of my personal obligations, my family and I spent the last month in America. While we were there, two unfounded claims of sexual harassment were brought up against me. My legal team will manage the remaining steps in handling this case.”

The actor also expressed, “I’d like to express gratitude to those who made my birthday so challenging. May the ones without fault cast no stones, but rather, only at those who have erred.”

Additionally, in response to escalating disputes involving prominent actors, the Actors’ Association called AMMA has experienced a wave of resignations. Notably, Mohanlal, who held the position of president within this association, opted to relinquish his role and facilitate the arrival of a fresh leadership.

Additionally, Mammootty recently endorsed the findings of the Hema Committee report, affirming that there are no dominant factions manipulating the film industry.
