Radikaa Sarathkumar REACTS to Rajinikanth's silence on Hema committee report

As a passionate follower of the Malayalam film industry, I find myself both disheartened and inspired by the ongoing #MeToo controversy. Having spent decades in this industry, I’ve seen its highs and lows, and it pains me to see such dark clouds looming over it.

In response to superstar Rajinikanth’s comments on the Hema Committee report during a Chennai event, Radikaa Sarathkumar, an experienced actress, expressed her thoughts to India Today. She stated, “Had he been aware, he would have spoken about it. Since he is unaware, he did not.”

After being questioned about the Me Too accusations in the Malayalam film industry, a veteran’s response followed. To avoid the controversy, Rajinikanth simply stated, “I’m not aware… I’m unaware of these matters. My apologies.”

In addition, I noted the conspicuous quietude of influential figures regarding this matter, and I expressed my concern that their silence might inadvertently establish a harmful precedent. I suggested that they could make a positive impact by openly showing support for those who have been mistreated.

In another interview with a Malayalam regional channel, Radikka made headlines by revealing the presence of hidden cameras inside vanity vans on a film set. She praised the Special Investigation Team for their swift response and initiative in addressing this issue.

Beyond this, Radikaa Sarathkumar responded to men inquiring as to why women don’t speak up about harassment sooner. She pointed out the complexities faced by women and stressed the importance of having a robust committee, similar to a reliable HR team, in place to address such issues moving forward.

“Would you care to share your thoughts on the current debate happening within the Malayalam film industry? Feel free to drop your insights in the comment section.”
