Pushpa 2 producer Ravi Shankar FINALLY REACTS to Pawan Kalyan's comment on portrayal of heroes as smugglers and says, 'He said something...'

As a die-hard fan of Telugu cinema, I’ve seen it all – from the golden days of Megastar to the current reign of Young Tiger and now, the rise of Pushpa. The recent controversy surrounding Pawan Kalyan’s comments about lead actors playing smugglers was a rollercoaster ride for me. I found myself on the edge of my seat, waiting for Ravi Shankar’s reaction as if it were a climax scene in one of his movies.

Ravi Shankar, producer at Mythri Movie Makers, has addressed the recent uproar involving actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan. Kalyan had expressed concerns about actors portraying smugglers in movies. However, Shankar explained that Kalyan’s comments were misunderstood and taken out of context in this situation.

Ravi Shankar explained, “Pawan Kalyan didn’t mean what people thought he did when talking about a different subject. It’s likely they misunderstood and assumed he was talking about ‘Pushpa 2’. Given his stature, he wouldn’t make any comments that could harm the film industry. He spoke in the moment, but it holds no relevance to ‘Pushpa 2’.”

The producer’s response was given after Pawan Kalyan made his remarks earlier this month. In a recent press conference regarding his partnership with the Forest Minister of Karnataka, he spoke about the transformation in the representation of heroes on film and likened it to smugglers who destroy forests instead of protecting them.

40 years back, a true hero was one who protected our forests, but now, it seems to me, the hero has morphed into someone who exploits them and engages in smuggling. As an ardent admirer of this art, I find myself grappling with the messages modern cinema is conveying, especially since I’m part of it too. Is this the legacy we want to pass on?

wording variation: His comments sparked widespread attention on social networks, leading many online users to speculate that they were critical of the Pushpa series by Allu Arjun and Sukumar.

Returning to the highly anticipated movie of this year, Pushpa 2: The Rule, set to hit theaters on December 6th, I was excited to hear from its producer Ravi Shankar during a recent event about the film starring Allu Arjun.

If you haven’t heard, the movie directed by Sukumar has been under discussion because whispers of disagreements between the director and actor Allu Arjun arose. Furthermore, speculations were made that the premiere could be delayed as a result of these problems.

On the contrary, Ravi Shankar dismissed those assertions and promised fans that the film is exceptional and the rest of the production will be finished by September.

He mentioned that the release of Pushpa 2 has been exceptional, and they aim to complete the second half production by September. By November, they plan to distribute it to theaters, with a confirmed cinema release date set for December 6. The film will once again feature Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in their respective roles.
