Pushpa 2: Mohanlal tags Allu Arjun starrer as a ‘gatecrasher’ at box office, compares it with THIS film of his own

As a seasoned actor with a rich career spanning over four decades, I find myself in awe of the phenomenal success of Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa 2. The way it has stormed through box office records, much like a Malayalam film I made long ago – Kalapani – reminds me of the unpredictable yet exhilarating nature of our industry.

Currently, Allu Arjun’s film Pushpa 2 is breaking all previous records. It managed to gross over 10 billion Indian rupees at the box office in just 6 days after its release, making it the fastest Indian movie to reach this milestone. As the film garners widespread acclaim from fans, actors, and critics alike, Mohanlal shared how its extraordinary success brings back memories of one of his own films that also achieved a similar level of success.

During the unveiling of his upcoming movie’s trailer, Mohanlal was inquired about his thoughts on the incredible success of Pushpa 2. In response, he stated that not just this particular film, but the entire film industry should be celebrated for attaining such monumental box office triumphs to ensure its continued prosperity.

He stated, “I humbly request the All-Powerful one for smooth operation in the movie world. The machinery of cinema needs to keep moving with new releases and triumphs. Consequently, every movie deserves a successful run. Let’s also honor films, not just Pushpa 2 – there are many significant films on the horizon. And I hope my film too finds its way to the screen.

Mohanlal explained that the success of Pushpa 2 was more like crashing a party uninvited, remarkably similar to his own nationwide films like Kalapani, which won a National Award. He ended by stressing the importance for filmmakers and technical teams to fully utilize their resources in order to produce such epic cinematic masterpieces.

He said, “Because it’s like a gatecrash. Somebody comes in. I did a film long back—Kalapani. It was a pan-Indian film long back. Santosh [Sivan] shot that film. He got a National Award. So, somebody should do it. We have all the materials, all the great technicians, and artists. But somebody should bring out very different films that can be shown anywhere in the world. So, we are just trying, and let it happen.”

The sequel of “Pushpa” is creating quite a splash at the movie theaters, leaving people spellbound. It’s broken records set by movies like “Animal” and “Baahubali,” setting an impressive benchmark for upcoming films to aspire towards.

The movie has earned praise from critics for a variety of aspects, such as its acting, script, thrilling action scenes, catchy tunes, and much else.

In addition to Allu Arjun, the movie features Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna in prominent roles. The creators have already revealed that there will be a third installment, titled Pushpa 3: The Rampage, as indicated by the end credits of the follow-up film.
