PS Plus subscribers are running out of time to get free PSN store credit

This week is an exciting one for PlayStation Plus gamers! The PS Plus games scheduled for April 2025 are looking fantastic, with two major day-one releases confirmed, one of which Shuhei Yoshida has hinted could be a Game of the Year contender. Although the new Essential games won’t arrive until April Fools’ Day, this is a reminder that PS Plus subscribers have only a limited time left to claim some free PlayStation Network credit by just playing some games.

How to get free PSN store credit with PS Plus

The PS Stars program, created by Sony, is an incredible offering exclusively for PlayStation Plus members. Notably, it’s accessible at no additional cost, but it’s essential to have either a PS Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium subscription to enjoy the perks associated with this program.

Essentially, the PS Stars program grants points to its subscribers. These points can be accumulated in two ways: purchasing digital games from the PlayStation Network store and completing simple tasks like acquiring specific games or playing games that are included in PlayStation Plus.

At the moment, subscribers of PlayStation Plus are rewarded with 100 points upon completing play of only two games that belong to Sony’s service. Here are the titles of the campaigns:

1. Campaign A
2. Campaign B

PS Plus monthly games – 50 points (ends March 31st):

  • Dragon Age Veilguard
  • Sonic Colors Ultimate
  • Relayer
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Cowabunga Collection

PS Plus game catalogue – 50 points (ends March 31st)

  • Return to Monkey Island
  • Embr
  • Ghostbusters Spirts Unleashed Echo edition
  • Nour Play With Your Food
  • Killer Frequency

To earn a total of 100 points, simply download any of the Essential and Extra games mentioned earlier from both campaigns. You don’t actually need to play the entire game; even just running it for a minute or two is enough to receive your reward.

100 points by themselves won’t earn you any prizes, but they contribute to your total PS Stars currency. This accumulated currency can be used to obtain free rewards like a £5 PSN store credit for 1,250 points or a £10 PSN store credit for 2,500 points.

In simpler terms, you have the opportunity to acquire entire games like the captivating Phasmophobia, absolutely free, using your accumulated points! This offer is available at a minimal cost of 2,500 points. Keep in mind that there are numerous other campaigns and rewards up for grabs, so be sure to download the PlayStation App on your iOS or Android device.

From a personal perspective, it’s wise to accumulate 2,500 credits for a £10 PlayStation Network (PSN) store credit. This credit can then be utilized during major sales to purchase games at discounted prices. The PSN store’s April sale is currently ongoing, offering a variety of high-quality AAA and indie games for less than £10 each.

In other PS Plus news, Sony has confirmed a massive day-one release for Summer.
