PS Plus July 2025 games leaving revealed with two replacements already confirmed

As a dedicated PlayStation fan, I’m thrilled to share that PS Plus subscribers have scored an early access to FBC Firebreak! And in less than a week, we’ll dive into Kojima’s long-awaited Death Stranding 2 on our PS5. The release of Death Stranding 2 is right around the corner, and it’s bringing along a grand unveiling of the next set of Essential games for PS Plus. Although Sony hasn’t spilled the beans yet about their upcoming freebies, the PS Plus July 2025 games leaving from our subscription have been confirmed, with two exciting replacements already in the pipeline!

PS Plus July 2025 games leaving

Below are the games known to be leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium in July 2025:

  • Dying Light 2 (Extra)
  • Remnant II (Extra)
  • Mount & Blade II Bannerlord (Extra)
  • Vampire The Masquerade – Swangsong (Extra)
  • Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core Reunion (Premium)
  • Job Simulator (Premium)

On July 15th, all of the mentioned items will depart. Fortunately, there are only six games this month, which is fewer than in previous months. Regrettably, these games are exceptionally engaging. Dying Light 2 is outstanding and an ideal choice to play before The Beast’s release in August. Moreover, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord offers a captivating medieval RPG experience with massive battles for strategy enthusiasts.

The remastered version of Crisis Core Reunion, originally a classic on PSP, is a game you shouldn’t miss because it fills in the backstory of Zack in Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 and depicts Sephiroth’s transformation from cherished hero to formidable antagonist. Unfortunately, Job Simulator, one of the rare quality PSVR games, is leaving Premium, which adds another disappointment for those who own this hardware.

PS Plus July 2025 games confirmed

For July 2025, only two games – Twisted Metal 3 and 4 – have been confirmed as part of the PS Plus lineup so far. According to the PlayStation Blog’s recap following the State of Play in June, these games will become available in the Premium catalog on July 15th. If you are not a subscriber to Premium, it seems that you’ll be able to purchase these classic titles from the PSN store separately.

On top of what’s been mentioned earlier, Sony has announced that Sword of the Sea will be available on PS Plus Extra starting August 19th, a game that was particularly enjoyed by former PlayStation President Shuhei Yoshida. To sweeten the deal further, the classic PS1 versions of Resident Evil 2 and 3 are expected to join the Premium tier later this summer, which seems to suggest around August as well.

It’s disheartening to see popular and cherished games leaving us, made worse by Sony announcing further increases in PS Plus subscription costs. Additionally, it’s concerning that Sony is planning to release more live-service games, with Helldivers 2 being hailed as successful and lessons taken from the disastrous Concord debacle.

In other PlayStation news, Sony has also said the PS6 is only a few years away.
