PS Plus is getting a price hike in Canada

Over time, digital subscriptions in the entertainment industry have been consistently rising in cost, and it appears that PlayStation Plus is set to follow suit by increasing its prices. Soon, Canadian gamers will notice an increased regular charge on their bills due to this price hike for PS Plus, which takes effect in June.

Sony recently informed Canadian PS Plus subscribers via email about an upcoming price rise in their subscription service. The increase is intended to support Sony’s continued provision of top-tier games and perks through the service. Here are the revised prices for the three PS Plus subscription plans (all quoted in Canadian dollars, of course):

1. Essential: $9.99/month or $29.99/quarter or $59.99/year
2. Extra: $16.99/month or $47.99/quarter or $99.99/year
3. Premium: $20.99/month or $62.99/quarter or $119.99/year

Essential

  • New: $13.99/month, $34.99/three months, $109.99/year
  • Old: $11.99/month, $29.99/three months or $94.99/year

Extra

  • New: $20.99/month, $55.99/three months, $189.99/year
  • Old: $17.99/month, $49.99/three months or $154.99/year

Premium

  • New:$24.99/month, $68.99/three months, $224.99/year
  • Old: $21.99/month, $59.99/three months, $189.99/year

The updated prices for Canadian PS Plus will take effect starting from the first billing cycle after June 24, 2025. This is the second price adjustment for PlayStation services this week, following Sony’s announcement of console price increases in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the UK.
