As a passionate cinephile, I found myself deeply engrossed in the prolonged demonstrations that unfolded over several hours. The catalyst for these passionate outpourings was undeniably the appearance of an Israeli superhero named Sabra, also known as Ruth Bat-Seraph, in the movie. This character, brimming with superpowers and brought to life by Shira Haas on screen, has ignited a significant conversation among viewers. According to Variety, this is indeed the case.

As an engaged spectator, I saw protesters waving signs that read “Sabra must depart”, “Disney is complicit in genocide”, “Refrain from ‘Captain America'”, and “Pray for Princess Jasmine”. They vocally expressed their sentiments through chants like “Liberate, liberate, Palestine” and “Disney, Disney, your actions cannot be concealed.

In 2022, the introduction of Sabra, a character portrayed as a Mossad agent in the comics, ignited debate among fans of Palestinian descent. Marvel subsequently announced their intention to adopt a “fresh perspective” with this character within the context of their upcoming series titled “Brave New World.

It’s common knowledge that there’s a new initiative underway. Marvel attempted to cater to everyone by creating an agent character without any powers, but who were they intending to satisfy? Recently, Disney has been intensifying its efforts to scrap all their diversity and inclusion initiatives following criticism from investors.

The protests all seem to be in vain, since the movie is reportedly terrible.
