Known movie producer Dil Raju has been making news for less-than-favorable reasons recently. Following an IT search and rumors about falsified box office figures for the film he produced, Game Changer, there’s now a bit of positive buzz surrounding one of his upcoming court cases.
2011 film “Mr Perfect,” directed by Dil Raju and starring Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, and Taapsee Pannu, faced copyright allegations in 2017 when author Mummudi Syamala Devi asserted that the storyline of the movie was copied directly from her novel “Naa Manasu Ninnu Kore.
Due to this dispute, the original author initially brought a copyright lawsuit directly against Dil Raju. This legal matter has been pending in court for quite some time now. Upon examining all available evidence, the City Civil Court has also mandated appropriate actions against the film producer.
Firstly, as per a report from India Glitz, Dil Raju has petitioned the Supreme Court regarding this matter. Secondly, the court’s panel evaluated all points presented and issued a stay on the lower Civil Court’s decision, effectively pushing back the trial for this case by two weeks.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that a prominent figure in the Game Changer production team has spoken out about the IT searches that took place at both his residence and workplace. He mentioned that similar inspections were not limited only to his premises but extended to numerous other producers and filmmakers within the Telugu cinema community.
As reported by Hans India, Dil Raju pledged complete assistance to the IT team during their investigation and promised to offer clear explanations about the issue from his side.
Discussing the movie “Mr Perfect”, it achieved commercial success when initially screened, catapulting Prabhas, Kajal, and other main actors into fame. Interestingly, due to high fan demand, the film was re-released in October 2024, providing an exciting encore for its admirers.
