2 new actors have been added to the roster for the upcoming comedy film by Amazon MGM Studios, featuring Will Ferrell and Zac Efron. The as-yet-unnamed production has Ferrell taking on the role of a TV judge, while Efron assumes the character of an ex-convict who served his time young. This is another project for Efron with Amazon MGM Studios following his role in last year’s film “Ricky Stanicky” alongside John Cena.
The plot revolves around a recently released prisoner, who accuses an egotistical television judge of ruining his life through a previous verdict. In a dramatic turn of events, he seizes control of a reality TV courtroom.
Who is joining the Will Ferrell & Zac Efron movie?
Priyanka Chopra Jonas (known for “Baywatch” and “Citadel”) and Michael Peña (“Ant-Man”) have been brought on board for the upcoming comedy, alongside previously announced cast members Regina Hall (“Scary Movie,” “Girls Trip”) and Jimmy Tatro (“American Vandal”). The specifics about their roles are currently being kept secret.
The upcoming, as-yet-unnamed film is set to be penned and helmed by Nicholas Stoller, the creator behind Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He’s previously worked with Ferrell in ‘You’re Cordially Invited’ and with Efron on the Neighbors movie series. The production will be handled by Stoller for Stoller Global Solutions and Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Alex Brown from Gloria Sanchez Productions.
Apart from the Ferrell and Efron film, Priyanka Chopra Jonas has two further projects with Amazon MGM Studios lined up. She is set to resume her character Nadia Sinh in the forthcoming sequel of the spy series Citadel. Furthermore, she will join Jack Quaid, Carla Gugino, Idris Elba, and others in Amazon MGM’s upcoming action thriller Heads of State. Meanwhile, regarding Peña, he recently appeared in Jason Statham’s latest action flick A Working Man. His next role will be seen in the sci-fi adventure drama Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, where he co-stars with Sam Rockwell and Juno Temple.
