Priyamani reveals one valuable lesson she learned from her Grandmaster co-star Mohanlal; ‘I don’t mix my…’

Lately, Priyamani has been generating headlines due to her acting in Kunchacko Boban’s latest film, Officer On Duty. In a recent interview, she discussed her on-screen partner Mohanlal, whom she worked with in the movie Grandmaster. During this conversation, she shared an intriguing story about him that hasn’t been told before.

In an interview with Filmfare, the actress admired Mohanlal’s unwavering commitment to his profession even during a family crisis. Priyamani mentioned one instance when Mohanlal’s mother was gravely ill. Rather than staying by his mother’s side at the hospital, he stood firm in his professional duties. Despite a demanding shooting schedule, Mohanlal showed up promptly and worked diligently on set.

As a devoted admirer, I can attest to witnessing this individual’s extraordinary commitment. Despite our long filming hours, from 9 AM to 6 PM or even 9 AM to 9 PM, he consistently made his way from the set straight to the hospital to be with his mother. He spent time there, took care of his personal needs, and then returned to the set without missing a beat in terms of professionalism.

Later on, Priyamani shared that seeing Mohanlal’s commitment to his craft prompted her to inquire if he might need a day away to be with his mom. Yet, the Drishyam actor won her over by explaining how he carefully separates his personal and professional life.

The actress shared that Mohanlal had mentioned his concern about not becoming a drain on the director’s resources, given the challenges in his personal life and the accompanying crises.

Priyamani shared that he had said, “On set, I’m an actor, off set, I’m a son. I keep my personal and professional lives separate. As a son, I never let work responsibilities interfere. Here, I might take a call, but I don’t want to disturb the director or halt production for everyone. I don’t wish to make others wait unnecessarily.” This piece of advice was incredibly insightful for her.

On the professional side, Mohanlal can’t wait for the debut of his much-anticipated film, L2: Empuraan. Following this, he’s set to appear in Thudarum. In addition, he recently shared that a third installment of the Drishyam series is under development.
