1997’s movie “Princess Mononoke,” written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, took place during the Muromachi era of Japanese history. The English voice-over stars featured Gillian Anderson as Moro, Billy Crudup as Ashitaka, Claire Danes as San, Minnie Driver as Lady Eboshi, Jada Pinkett Smith as Toki, Billy Bob Thornton as Jigo, Keith David as Okkoto, and others. Toshio Suzuki, Studio Ghibli’s chairman, produced the film.
