Starting from June 20th, Prince and his family will be making their way to JioHotstar following a triumphant theatrical stint. This film, titled “Prince and Family,” was helmed by newcomer director Binto Stephen, who garnered mixed reactions during its initial cinema release.
Now, just a day since its release on streaming platforms, social media is overflowing with feedback from viewers who’ve watched the film digitally. Here’s what they had to say about it.
Most viewers seemed to think that the film “Prince and Family” is quite good, suitable for both family viewing and a range of ages.
As I settled into my seat, ready to immerse myself in the latest cinematic masterpiece, I must admit that the initial threads of the storyline were intricately woven, leaving me captivated and on the edge of my seat. However, as the tale unfolded, there were moments where the direction felt a bit off and the dialogue lacked the depth I’d hoped for, creating a somewhat jarring experience amidst the overall excellence.
In simpler terms, Dileep’s acting was multi-dimensional and played a crucial role in shaping the entire storyline. His impeccable comedic delivery and charisma managed to overshadow some elements that could be considered awkward or unnatural, such as scenes that seemed contrived or overly humorous.
Apart from him, several viewers found the rest of the casting choices debatable as they seemed to lack enthusiasm in their collective appeal for the movie. Alternatively, one could say that beyond him, some viewers thought the other cast members’ efforts were insufficient to create a compelling ensemble for the film.
In simpler terms for the audience, the second part seemed dull and unnecessarily prolonged, making it difficult for any meaningful message to be conveyed effectively.
As a devoted fan, I’ve noticed that some viewers have expressed concerns about the lack of genuine humor and the employment of dated themes in Prince and Family, as they watched it together online.
Prince and Family box office response
Indeed, it turned out that the film took the lead among all movies in Kerala in terms of box office earnings, outperforming several Malayalam films that came after its release.
In simpler terms, the movie starring Prince and his family surpassed the earnings of films such as Padakkalam and Sarkeet at the box office, earning over 52.5 million rupees in just five days since its release. This amount is only outdone by Mohanlal’s Thudarum among recent releases.
