Predator: Badlands Trailer Easter Eggs Hint at Future Alien Crossover

20th Century Studios recently unveiled a sneak peek for “Predator: Badlands,” and fans suspect that the trailer may hold subtle references, or clues, pointing towards possible collaborations with the Alien series. So far, there have been two films featuring collaborative elements from both the Alien and Predator franchises, namely “Alien vs. Predator” (2004) and “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem” (2007).

It’s been made clear since Predator 2 (1990) that there are alien beings resembling Xenomorphs in the Predator universe, and although Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017) excluded Alien-series crossover films from the Alien timeline, these entities still exist.

Predator: Badlands trailer Easter eggs could set up new Alien crossover

The brief preview of Predator: Badlands contains references (Easter eggs) linking the forthcoming Predator film to the Alien series, suggesting a possible merging of these film franchises in future installments.

In the trailer for Predator: Badlands, you can spot the Weyland-Yutani Corporation’s emblem several times. Specifically, at 26 seconds into the video, the symbol appears on Elle Fanning’s character Thia’s eyes, hinting that she is an android manufactured by this corporation. Similarly, in Alien: Romulus (2024), the logo is visible in David Jonsson’s character Andy’s eyes, suggesting that he is a synthetic being.

At exactly 53 seconds into the trailer, the Weyland-Yutani emblem reappears in one corner of the screen. Since its debut, movie enthusiasts have been discussing online about the possibility of a cross-over event.

User @MyTimeToShineH posted a screenshot showcasing Thia’s eyes with the caption “Here we go again with the new Alien vs. Predator encounter!”, while social media figure @blurayangel speculated that Badlands could be preparing for another Alien vs Predator scenario.

Reflecting back on August 2024, I, as a devoted fan, was thrilled to learn about director Fede Álvarez’s plans to collaborate with Dan Trachtenberg, the mastermind behind both Alien: Romulus and Predator: Badlands. A few months down the line, Steve Asbell from 20th Century Studios hinted at a potential future crossover between Alien and Predator, leaving me, and many other fans, eagerly awaiting this exciting collaboration.

Predator: Badlands premieres in US theaters on November 7, 2025.
