In Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, I had the privilege of joining forces with Deepika Padukone once more. I stepped into the character of Bhairava, a complex and self-centered bounty hunter, while she brought Sumathi to life, a pivotal figure in the narrative. It was unveiled that Sumathi is no ordinary character; she is the mother of Kalki, Vishnu’s final incarnation. Therefore, her role carries significant weight in moving the film’s plot forward.
In the year 2898 AD, Kalki emerged as one of the top-earning films of 2024. During the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa, producers Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt unveiled intriguing details about its sequel.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m excited to share that the pre-production process for Part 2 is currently underway, and we’ve already filmed approximately one-third to a little over one-quarter of the second installment.
