In case you’re not already familiar, I myself am a devotee of Sivasri Skandaprasad – a remarkable figure in the world of Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam dance. Born into a musically rich lineage, she was nurtured under the expert tutelage of Guru A.S. Murali in the classical art form of Carnatic music.

Through her artistic growth, Sivasri has found herself participating in global events, some of which were held as part of international cultural exchange programs in Denmark and South Korea. After earning a degree in bioengineering, she went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras. Moreover, she has delved into the study of Sanskrit and completed a diploma course in Ayurvedic cosmetology.

Apart from having a large fanbase on Instagram and YouTube, this singer is also known for being involved in Mani Ratnam’s film, “Ponniyin Selvan.” Over time, she has contributed to the movie by providing her exceptional vocals in a background song track. Interestingly, these songs were sung in Tamil.

The two-part movie series was debuted in 2022 and continued in 2023, boasting a talented group of actors such as Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ravi Mohan, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, and numerous others.

Born on August 1, 1996, I am Sivasri – a lifestyle enthusiast with a rich musical heritage that runs deep within my family tree. I’m the cherished daughter of Seerkazhi Sri J Skandaprasad, a renowned Mridangam maestro, and his esteemed predecessor, my late grandfather, Seerkazhi R. Jayaraman, was not just a musician but a legend, honored with the prestigious Kalaimamani award. My beloved grandmother, Shanthi Jayaraman, was an adored vocal accompaniment for leading Bharatanatyam artists, gracing the stage alongside them. Our family is like a symphony, each member contributing unique notes to the melody of our lives.

Besides these honors, Sivasri has been bestowed with titles such as Bharatha Kala Choodamani, Yuva Samman Award, and Bhajana Bhushan.
