Sasikumar, Simran Bagga’s Tourist Family
On May 1, 2025, the movie titled “Tourist Family” premiered to wide acclaim. The cast included M Sasikumar, Simran Bagga, Abishan Jeevinth, Bagavathi Perumal, and others in significant roles.
The movie, titled “Crisis of the Tamils,” was penned and helmed by Abishan Jeevinth. It centers on a Tamil family in Sri Lanka grappling with a severe economic predicament. This thought-provoking film concluded its cinematic journey grossing approximately Rs. 45 crores globally.
Following a triumphant run in theaters, the Tourist Family is set to debut on online streaming platforms, specifically Jio Hotstar, starting from June 2 and beyond.
Soori, Aishwarya Lekshmi’s Maaman
In contrast, there’s also the movie titled “Maaman,” another touching Tamil family drama. The film primarily revolves around a special relationship between an uncle and his nephew, emphasizing their deep connection and mutual importance in each other’s lives.
On May 16, the movie was premiered in theaters, with Prasanth Pandiyaraj handling both writing and directing duties. Upon its theatrical debut, the film received a variety of reactions from viewers, including praise for its innovative storytelling approach.
Additionally, the movie features actors such as Rajkiran, Jayaprakash, Swasika, Viji Chandrasekhar, and others alongside Soori and Aishwarya Lekshmi. The film “Maaman” premiered on the streaming platform Zee5 for its digital release.
