As a gamer who has been collecting and occasionally battling with Pokémon Trading Cards since the Jungle and Fossil sets, I must say, the modern version of the game feels like a whole new ballgame! The EX cards are a testament to that change – they’re more powerful, have special effects, and make my old collection feel like a museum piece.
Many Pokémon TCG game players are attempting to discard EX cards by establishing their own sub-community within the larger one.
As a child, Pokémon Trading Cards were a significant part of my upbringing. However, it’s no secret that I was primarily concerned with accumulating cards rather than engaging in actual battles. Yet, I did have my share of TCG conflicts during those days. Now, as I gaze upon the contemporary cards with their numerous special effects and HP exceeding the previous limit of 120, it becomes increasingly apparent that what I knew as Pokémon has evolved into a completely new game altogether.
As a fellow enthusiast, I find myself in agreement with many others who are enjoying the latest addition to the Pokémon Trading Card Game – the “Pokémon TCG Pocket”. And it appears that we share a common sentiment: a desire to streamline our decks by perhaps getting rid of the EX cards.
Pokémon TCG pocket
In just three weeks, the latest edition of the franchise has made a massive impact on the Pokémon universe, raking in over $120 million in earnings, as the popular card game was successfully transitioned to the digital realm.
Players have the opportunity to open mystery packs, not just relying on luck, build flawless decks, and engage in battles with both friends and opponents from all corners of the world.
Just as some cards in traditional card games are scarcer and more powerful than others, currently, it’s the EX Pokémon cards that are particularly intriguing.
Pokemon EX Cards
The scarcity of EX cards can be attributed to their enhanced attributes such as higher Health Points (HP), stronger attack power, and striking visual designs. However, their unique feature allows opponents to inflict double damage upon defeat – a trade-off that often makes them difficult to conquer.
It’s not unexpected that these cards are frequently employed in combat, providing a substantial advantage for attack power and health when played. Some players find these cards appearing excessively in battles, leading them to address the issue directly.
NOEX Community
The community devised a “NOEX” battle style, which prohibits the use of EX cards during play, making it straightforward for anyone to join these engagements.
When players opt for a “private battle” from the menu, they should input “NOEX” as the password. This is expected to connect them with another player who also chooses not to use EX Pokémon. Since there are no set rules, it’s essential that users trust each other’s honesty.
Despite some players persisting in employing those cards during NOEX battles, it appears the majority of the Pokemon TCG community is taking pleasure in the novel method of play they’ve introduced.
