As a devoted fan who has been following SEVENTEEN since their debut days, I must admit, these recent announcements have left me both surprised and saddened. The news of Jeonghan’s enlistment and Jun’s acting pursuits in China feels like a double whammy.

SEVENTEEN’s member Jeonghan is getting ready to start his mandatory military service in South Korea, scheduled for the latter half of 2024. On August 12, 2024, PLEDIS Entertainment, SEVENTEEN’s agency, confirmed this via a statement posted on Weverse.

The entertainment company has updated fans that Seventeen’s member, Jeonghan, won’t join Seventeen on their current world tour. Additionally, Jeonghan is also stepping back from promoting Seventeen’s forthcoming 12th mini album.

Previously discussed, PLEDIS Entertainment has confirmed that SEVENTEEN member Jeonghan is set to join the mandatory military service later this year. The announcement was made via a statement on Weverse, stating that Jeonghan’s enlistment will occur during the second half of 2024. Unfortunately, due to his military duties, Jeonghan won’t be able to take part in promotional activities related to their upcoming 12th mini album and the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR, which kicks off in October.

The statement continues by saying, “Fans can still interact with JEONGHAN at the prearranged fan signing event and Lollapalooza Berlin. More information about his military service will be shared at a later time through a separate announcement.”

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share some exciting updates! While we’re still processing the news about Jeonghan’s military enlistment, there’s more good news from PLEDIS Entertainment regarding our beloved SEVENTEEN member Jun. They’ve unveiled his plans for the second half of 2024 – he’ll be venturing into acting in China! I can hardly wait to see him on the Chinese silver screen.

According to the statement released on Weverse by PLEDIS Entertainment, they’ve decided that member JUN from SEVENTEEN will focus on acting and other ventures in China for the second half of this year, similar to JEONGHAN who has already finished filming content ahead of time.

The agency clarified that Jun won’t take part in the performance of the group’s 12th mini album during music shows or Lollapalooza Berlin, and he will also be absent from the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR alongside the other members.

“Despite a clash with his on-set filming commitments, it was announced that JUN won’t be able to attend Lollapalooza Berlin, perform for the music shows related to the 12th mini album, or participate in the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR. However, he is committed to being involved with SEVENTEEN’s group activities. Unfortunately, he won’t be part of the world tour, but JUN will actively engage in schedules that involve CARATs as much as possible.”

As a dedicated fan, I’ve received some news directly from our entertainment company about two beloved members of my favorite group, SEVENTEEN. They asked for our understanding and support as JEONGHAN embarks on his military service, ensuring he returns in good health.
