The former is set in the universe of “Pillars of Eternity,” delving into themes familiar to this series like faith, moral complexity, and evolving viewpoints. Players who appreciate these themes might also enjoy “Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords,” another creation from Obsidian Entertainment.
As a dedicated gamer, I can tell you that “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2” is the follow-up to BioWare’s masterpiece, “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.” Instead of BioWare continuing the series, they handed off the project to Obsidian Entertainment. Unlike BioWare, Obsidian didn’t mimic their style but brought their own creative flair to the table for “KotOR 2,” making it a distinctly different yet captivating “Star Wars” tale. Set five years after the conclusion of “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic,” this game introduces a new protagonist, the Jedi Exile, who must navigate a post-war galaxy that is unfriendly towards Jedi and in the midst of a Jedi Purge.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2’s Themes
2004 saw the launch of KotOR 2, a game notorious for its multitude of bugs and glitches, as well as an incomplete state at release. The game’s ending was vague, leaving the outcomes of many party members uncertain or unresolved due to missing content. However, it garnered a devoted fanbase thanks to the excellence of its writing and its thoughtful, careful deconstruction of the Star Wars universe. Regrettably, the Restored Content Mod is not accessible for Switch users yet. Nevertheless, the challenges encountered in playing KotOR 2 make it worth the effort due to its distinctive themes, engaging narrative, and memorable characters.
