Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii moves its release date away from Monster Hunter Wilds

As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but appreciate the thoughtfulness shown by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio in adjusting the release date for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Having two highly anticipated games clash on the same day would have been a headache for many players like me who eagerly await both titles.

It was quite inconvenient when Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Capcom scheduled their game releases on the same day – “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza” in Hawaii and “Monster Hunter Wilds”. However, fans who wish to play both games can now breathe a sigh of relief as RGG has decided to shift its release date forward by a week. This new timing ensures that there’s some space between the two releases.

Masayoshi Yokoyama, director at Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, announced the release date for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii via a social media post. In the trailer for the game, he unveiled that the release date has been moved to February 21, 2024 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Yokoyama doesn’t explicitly blame Monster Hunter Wilds for the shift in Pirate Yakuza’s release date, but it seems evident that the development team wanted to avoid launching on the same day. Initially, both games were planned for release on February 28, 2024, which would have created a clash. Fortunately, players now have a slight respite as Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza has been pushed forward by a week.
