In response to the decline in the art market, Pharrell Williams’ online auction platform, JOOPITER, is broadening its horizons by launching its very own marketplace. This expansion includes a unique instant purchase option for high-end, pre-owned collectibles.
According to a recent article in WWD, Joopiter Marketplace is set to debut with merchandise from some of Pharrell’s elite A-list associates, such as collectors like himself, artist Tom Sachs, jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, entrepreneur and gallerist Easy Otabor, and music executive Steven Victor. John Auerbach, CEO of Joopiter, shared with WWD in a statement that over the past three and a half years, Joopiter has cultivated a dedicated following of collectors through their auctions who are eager for an immediate offering. The Joopiter Marketplace has been developed to fulfill this need, expand the community, and introduce sought-after items that only Joopiter can offer in the market.
At the premiere of Joopiter Marketplace, some notable items will be available, including a black replica of Williams’ Vivienne Westwood Buffalo hat priced at $630 USD, a pair of customized black Timberlands from his collection for $4,200 USD, and a white Billionaire Boys Club polo shirt similar to the one Pharrell wore in his “Frontin'” music video with stains, selling for $735 USD. Additionally, Schwartz is offering an Hermès Ostrich Tri-Color Birkin 35 with Palladium Hardware for $36,900 USD, as well as jewelry from her Elizabeth Taylor collection. Other items up for sale include a RSVP Gallery x Off-White x Nike T-shirt for $285 USD and various pieces associated with Virgil Abloh.
