Having waited what feels like an eternity since the first season dropped, I’m ready to dive back into this action-packed world. It’s been a long wait, but with the release date set for January 23, 2025, it looks like my New Year will be off to a bang!
Great news, I’m diving back into action! While saving the world is quite a task for me, rest assured I’ll give it my all in The Night Agent season 2, now confirmed to premiere on Netflix with a set release date.
On Thursday, January 23rd, 2025, all ten episodes of the eagerly awaited second season of the popular action-thriller series will become available for streaming on Netflix. This release date was officially announced on November 13th, after it had previously been confirmed that the second season would premiere during the winter of 2025.
Not only did Netflix reveal the premiere date for season 2, they also shared a sneak peek at upcoming episodes through a fresh trailer. This quick glimpse starts with the Night Action phone ringing once more – just like in the beginning!
The Night Agent season 2 premieres in January 2024
In a voiceover, an unseen woman comments, “It requires a particular type of individual to thrive as a Night Agent.” As Peter dashes away from a band of adversaries armed with guns, she poses the question, “What will it be for you?” The season 1 finale reveals that Peter takes on the role of an official Night Agent. Given the snippets in the trailer, it seems that triumph won’t come effortlessly.
As an ardent admirer, I must say that the initial teaser trailer doesn’t unveil any familiar or fresh faces in the main cast, instead, it solely focuses on Gabriel Basso reprising his role as the title character. Nonetheless, it’s been confirmed that Luciane Buchanan will return as Peter’s girlfriend Rose, and actors like Amanda Warren, Michael Malarkey, Brittany Snow, and others have joined the ensemble. It’s reasonable to expect Netflix to share a more comprehensive trailer in the lead-up to its scheduled January premiere.

Initially, “The Night Agent” debuted on Netflix in March 2023, implying fans have had a nearly two-year gap between seasons. Originally scheduled for release in 2024, Season 2 was affected by the double Hollywood labor strikes that took place at the end of 2023, causing significant delays across the industry. Unfortunately, even Peter’s efforts couldn’t prevent the delay.
It’s great news that Netflix has already greenlit a third season of The Night Agent before the second one even airs! Filming for season 3 is set to start towards the end of 2024 and continue into early 2025, so if everything goes as planned, we might have two new seasons in 2025. But until then, let’s focus on the thrilling season 2 which will premiere on Jan. 23.
