It’s been announced that Cineverse has fixed a release date for the year 2025 for the movie “The Toxic Avenger,” with Peter Dinklage starring as Toxie. According to Deadline, this reimagining of the ’80s dark cult comedy will launch nationwide on August 29, opening the Labor Day weekend. Movie studio Cineverse, known for the blockbuster hit “Terrifier 3” last autumn, has secured U.S. and Canadian rights for theatrical screenings, home entertainment releases, and streaming of “The Toxic Avenger.” This acquisition was made through a contract with Legendary Entertainment. The film is directed by Macon Blair, who previously worked on “I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore,” and features Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage (from “Game of Thrones”) alongside Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, Julia Davis, and Taylour Paige.
A startling incident alters the life of Winston Gooze (Dinklage), a downtrodden janitor, turning him into a mutant vigilante. Equipped with his distinctive mop, this unexpected champion confronts monsters, gangsters, and corrupt CEOs as he strives to maintain his connection with his son.
