Percy Jackson Season 3 Renewed by Disney+ Before Season 2’s Release

The third season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has been announced on Disney+. Its premiere dates back to between December 19, 2023, and January 30, 2024 for the initial season, with Season 2 still in development as it hasn’t been released yet.

Disney+ Percy Jackson Season 3 renewed already

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share that Disney+ has greenlit another fantastical journey with Percy Jackson and the Olympians for Season 3! This show, inspired by Rick Riordan’s beloved book series, saw its first season bringing The Lightning Thief to life. The upcoming seasons are eagerly anticipated: Season 2 promises an adaptation of The Sea of Monsters, while Season 3 will delve into the events of The Titan’s Curse. Incredibly, Riordan himself collaborated on the series with Jonathan E. Steinberg, making this a truly authentic experience for us fans!

In the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Disney+ saw tremendous success. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a remarkable 91% approval rating after 65 reviews. Moreover, this series has already garnered several accolades, such as multiple Children’s and Family Emmy Awards. Notably, it was the most-watched original series on Disney+ in 2024, according to data from Luminate. (Based on Deadline)

In Season 1, we have Walker Scobell portraying Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Aryan Simhadri playing Grover Underwood, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, and Jason Mantzoukas taking on dual roles as both Dionysus and Mr. D. For Season 2, Daniel Diemer has been added to the cast, where he will bring Percy’s half-brother Tyson to life.

Based on the original books, the series follows Percy Jackson, our title character who learns he is a demigod and son of Poseidon. In the first season, Percy along with his companions embarks on an adventure to retrieve Zeus’ lost Master Bolt. Filming for the second season was completed earlier this year and it’s set to air in December 2025.

Significantly, Riordan announced in a February 2025 post on Bluesky that they were given permission to initiate a writers’ room and draft scripts for the upcoming third season.
