Peaky Blinders Creator Steven Knight Says Show’s ‘World Will Continue’ After Movie

Following six seasons and a film, creator Steven Knight feels that there are additional tales yet to be spun within the world of Peaky Blinders.

During an interview on BBC Breakfast for his latest series A Thousand Blows, Knight shared some insights into the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, which was completed with filming in December.

Knight stated, ‘We’re currently piecing it together.’ Now, wouldn’t you agree? But let me tell you, it’s extraordinary! We’ve gathered some of the finest British actors in one spot, including Stephen [Graham]. The footage I’ve seen, the previews, nobody will be left unsatisfied. It’s truly remarkable. This part of the Peaky story concludes in a very fitting manner.

The movie concludes this particular segment of the Peaky Blinders narrative, but rest assured, the world isn’t done yet. There seems to be another film or show spinning off from the Peaky Blinders universe in the pipeline.

Knight shared that, while he can’t make an official announcement, he hinted that the world of Peaky Blinders is set to carry on.

Who is involved in the Peaky Blinders Movie?

In this new twist, Cillian Murphy once again takes on the legendary character of Tommy Shelby in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, set to stream on Netflix. Reflecting on their partnership, Murphy expressed his delight at working with Steven Knight and Tom Harper again on the big screen adaptation of Peaky Blinders. In a statement, he added, “This is for the devoted fans.

In addition to Murphy, the film’s ensemble also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, Jay Lycurgo, and Barry Keoghan.

The movie “Peaky Blinder” is a grand extension of the highly acclaimed, six-season crime series. This story takes place in Birmingham from 1919 to 1934, focusing on the Shelby family’s journey through power as they maneuvered amidst significant social, economic, and political upheaval.

In the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, Tom Harper serves as the director based on a screenplay penned by Knight. Notably, Harper has also helmed several episodes in the first season of the series.

I’ve been captivated by the gripping saga of Peaky Blinders for six seasons now, with the first four unfolding on BBC Two and the last two gracing our screens on BBC One. Later on, Netflix brought this masterpiece to American audiences as well.

The Peaky Blinders movie does not have a release date.
