Peacemaker Season 2’s Release Schedule Will Be Different From Season 1

James Gunn, who jointly leads DC Studios as Co-chairman and Co-CEO, has recently provided an important update about the release schedule for Peacemaker Season 2. This upcoming season is slated to air later this year, marking more than three years since its precursor was launched. Unlike Season 1, Gunn confirmed that the second installment won’t follow the same pattern for its premiere.

Peacemaker Season 2 to release one episode instead of three

The director behind Guardians of the Galaxy is known for being approachable and clearing up fan questions through his social media platforms.

James Gunn has shared some updates on Twitter about the release plan for Peacemaker Season 2, and he’s mentioned that instead of a full season debut, the second season will kick off with a single premier episode.

Instead of the initial chapter of the John Cena series being gradually released over time on HBO Max, all three episodes were broadcast simultaneously. Consequently, the first season had a five-week run before subsequent episodes started airing weekly. Similarly, the first appearance of DCU’s Creature Commandos also premiered on HBO’s rapidly expanding streaming service with a double episode launch.

Rather than unconventionally launching all episodes at once, Peacemaker Season 2 is expected to follow a traditional release pattern, debuting with a single episode on its premiere day.

Based on current information, it seems like we can expect the release of Peacemaker Season 2 according to the schedule below. However, please keep in mind that any updates or changes announced later will take precedence over this plan.

  • August 21 – Episode 1
  • August 28 – Episode 2
  • September 4 – Episode 3
  • September 4 – Episode 4
  • September 4 – Episode 5
  • September 4 – Episode 6
  • October 2 – Episode 7
  • October 9 – Episode 8

Excitedly speaking about the upcoming season of Peacemaker, I can’t help but share my enthusiasm for who’s joining John Cena in the cast! Besides him, we’ll see Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, and Steve Agee gracing our screens. The second season is scheduled to premiere on HBO Max on August 21, 2025, running for eight weeks until October 9, 2025. I can hardly wait!
