Peacemaker Season 2: DCU Fans Discover Major Superman Easter Egg

The cast of Peacemaker Season 2 seemingly includes two villains who showed up in Superman.

As a die-hard fan of comic book adaptations, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming season of Peacemaker! Coming to HBO Max next month, this DCU project is none other than the second season of the series that stars John Cena as Christopher Smith. It’s the brainchild of James Gunn, who has penned all eight episodes himself. I can hardly wait!

What Superman villains will appear in Peacemaker Season 2?

According to ComicBookMovie, some DC Universe fans believe they spotted Terence Rosemore’s Otis and Stephen Blackehart’s Sydney in the backdrop of a Peacemaker Season 2 teaser video, which was published approximately a month ago.

In the movie, Sydney and Otis were employees of Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor, who was portraying Superman’s nemesis. By the film’s end, they were all arrested. Since Frank Grillo’s character, Rick Flag Sr., leads A.R.G.U.S., it’s plausible that he could secure their release if they are willing to work for him instead.

The upcoming season’s summary presents us with the storyline of Christopher ‘Chris’ Smith, also known as Peacemaker, the superhero vigilante. He grapples with reconciling his past and a fresh sense of purpose, all while persistently fighting evil-doers to maintain peace, even if it means sacrificing some principles along the way.

In addition to John Cena reprising his role in Peacemaker Season 2, we’ll see Danielle Brooks portray Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland playing Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, Tim Meadows taking on Langston Fleury, Michael Rooker as Red St. Wild, Isabela Merced joining as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion appearing as Guy Gardner, Sean Gunn in the role of Maxwell Lord, and other talented actors.

In August 21, 2025, the second season of “Peacemaker” will debut on HBO Max. At present, Superman continues to run in U.S. cinemas, and it’s anticipated that the next DC Universe project following “Peacemaker” is “Supergirl,” scheduled for release in June 2026.
