It’s quite a delight when a multitalented and versatile artist has had a lengthy career to celebrate the 50th anniversary of a timeless album. This year is the golden jubilee for Patti Smith’s album, Horses, which was produced by The Velvet Underground, and she will be performing twenty-one shows in Europe and America later this year to honor this milestone.
Patti Smith, renowned not only for her powerful music but also her captivating memoirs such as “Just Kids” and “Year Of The Monkey,” has served as a generational voice for multiple generations. While she is most famously recognized for her Horses album, which debuted in December 1975.
At these groundbreaking performances, two individuals from the original band that produced it will join her: Lenny Kaye on the guitar and Jay Dee Daugherty on drums. Additionally, keyboardist/bassist Tony Shanahan and her son Jackson, who plays the guitar, will also take part in the music-making alongside them at these significant events.
