Patti LuPone, Zachary Quinto, & More Cast in New Murder Mystery Series The Artist

As a longtime fan of both stage and screen, I can’t help but feel a thrill of excitement at the news that Patti LuPone and Zachary Quinto have joined forces for The Artist murder mystery series! With their extensive resumes in musical theater (LuPone) and science fiction/fantasy (Quinto), it’s refreshing to see them delve into a new genre together.

Patti LuPone and Zachary Quinto have been cast in a new murder mystery series titled The Artist.

More recently, Patti LuPone portrayed Lilia Calderu in Marvel Studios’ Agatha All Along series, while John Cho is widely recognized for his role as Spock in 2009’s Star Trek and its subsequent sequels. Now, these two actors will appear together in a fresh murder mystery series titled The Artist, which hails from The Network.

Who else has been cast in The Artist murder mystery series?

Moreover, it’s been announced that Hank Azaria (Brockmire) and Clark Gregg (The Avengers) will be part of the cast for The Artist. They join a cast that already includes Mandy Patinkin (The Princess Bride), Janet McTeer (Ozark), and Danny Huston (Wonder Woman).

The summary for this series is penned as follows: “The visionary Aram Rappaport, a filmmaker and the founder of The Network, has crafted, overseen, scripted, and directed the series. Titled ‘The Artist’, it unfolds in the fading days of the Gilded Age and revolves around a group of famous personalities from that era, including Thomas Edison (Azaria), Edgar Degas (Huston), and Evelyn Nesbit. These characters intertwine in the household of the enigmatic and struggling tycoon Norman Henry, portrayed by Patinkin, and his wife Marian (McTeer). Tragically, this narrative concludes with the untimely passing of Norman.

In the upcoming production, Quinto takes on the role of a lawyer from San Francisco named Delphin Delmas, who is different from LuPone’s character, McTeer’s sister, Rosie Morsch. Meanwhile, Gregg has been assigned to portray Harry Kendall Thaw.

Rappaport will also serve as a producer on The Artist alongside Hilary Shor.

Beyond his roles in Star Trek films, Zachary Quinto is recognized for his appearances in American Horror Story and as Oliver Wolf in Brilliant Minds. His acting credits extend to Margin Call (2011), Hitman: Agent 47 (2015), Hotel Artemis (2018), The Boys in the Band (2020), and numerous other productions.

Though she’s primarily recognized for her achievements in musical theater on Broadway, Patti LuPone has also graced our screens in series like American Horror Story, and more recently, she’s appeared in films such as Last Christmas (2019), The School for Good and Evil (2022), and Beau Is Afraid (2023).

A premiere date for The Artist has not yet been announced.
