Regarding whether most people are familiar with Wonder Woman’s traditional backstory, Gunn commented, “Many don’t know it – this is partly due to the fact that she has multiple origin narratives.
Among the initial projects introduced for DCU’s first phase, under the title “Gods and Monsters,” includes a political drama named “Paradise Lost.” This story unfolds in Themyscira prior to the birth of Wonder Woman.
Despite a lack of recent updates on Paradise Lost, creator Gunn confirms that the project is actively being developed behind the scenes. As of now, there’s no news on castings or a release date for the series.
Several other projects at DCU are progressing through different phases of production. As for now, the movie “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” is scheduled to hit the screens on June 26, 2026. Moreover, creator James Gunn hinted that “Lanterns,” a series featuring Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, might debut around the same time when Supergirl starts playing in cinemas.
Upcoming DC Universe TV series also feature Waller, Booster Gold, and a Blue Beetle production, with movies like The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, Teen Titans, and others still being developed as well.
