Palais de Tokyo Unveils Bold New Artistic Visions

The Palais de Tokyo art museum presents a fresh series of exhibitions featuring five unique artists: Vivian Suter, Thao Nguyen Phan, Chalisée Naamani, Rammellzee, and John Giorno. Renowned for promoting innovative perspectives, each exhibition is meticulously arranged to provide an engaging look into the artist’s creative mindset and methods.

Vivian Suter’s artwork titled “Disco” showcases approximately 500 abstract pieces influenced by the natural world itself – her canvases are left out in the elements such as rain, mud, and vegetation, making it difficult to distinguish between the environment and the art itself. Thao Nguyen Phan’s exhibit “The Sun Falls Silently” is her inaugural solo show in France, offering a blend of video, sculpture, and paintings that delve into the complex intersections between Vietnam and French history and culture, encouraging viewers to engage in a meaningful dialogue with her cultural heritage.

Rammellzee’s “Alphabeta Sigma (Side A)”, his significant European debut exhibition, showcases the groundbreaking artist’s unconventional reworkings of language using spray paint, fabrics, and neon. In “Octogone”, Chalisée Naamani reimagines the exhibit space as a multi-layered exploration of identity and physical representation. Lastly, “Welcoming the Flowers” pays tribute to John Giorno’s poetic heritage through text-driven installations that combine themes of love, politics, and spirituality.

The exhibitions run through July 9. Tickets are available now via thePalais de Tokyo website.
