
For the past five years, Square Enix has been dedicated to bringing unlaunched Japanese Role-Playing Games (RPGs) to a global audience, as well as revamping some timeless classics. Live-A-Live was initially unreleased in the U.S., but its 2022 remake is considered an outstanding RPG. Similarly, Trials of Mana didn’t reach Western markets originally, but the 2020 remake ranks among Square Enix’s finest recent projects.
